Planning Locations

Before we film our trailer we need to plan where we are going to film the footage and the actress and actor. Planning is a key skill for creating a trailer and is very important. The storyboard we have created will help us plan the locations as we know exactly what shots we need but we just need to find locations to match our storyboard plan.

For our trailer we need many different shots and all in different places, some of the locations we have thought about are:

Dockside outlet center because there is a nearby river that we thought would look very romantic if we film them walking along next to the river. It also has a shopping center, which we could use for some of our scenes so we can gain a variety of shots.
Cozington Park as there is a skate park inside where we can film gym to show his hobby and Georgia watching him skate.
A car so that we can film the scene where Georgia breaks down and cries, as we can get some intense and strong angles from filming inside a car.
A bedroom for the idea of the bed scene when we speed up the shots.
  • The local woods as this will be good for the end of the trailer when it builds up and Jim has a mad moment as it will help create a tense atmosphere and it will compliment the storyline at this stage in the trailer.
  • A kitchen is another location we can use as we want a scene of them drinking wine together, by showing a kitchen in the background it will help represent that they live in the same house it will also make our shots look more natural.
  • Riverside is a location that we will use to film Georgia when she is saying the voice over. This is because the shot will be of her on her own looking out to the water while the voice over is happening.

These are the main locations that we will use to film our trailer however, I’m sure that we will gain more ideas and come across different locations that we want to film when we go out for our filming sessions.
