Target Audience

For our film trailer we need to decide on an age group that we are targeting our film for. When creating a film the target audience is a very important part of planning your film. As the genre of our film is Romance we have chosen our age group from teens to young adults so we are looking at people aged 16-25. The reason we have selected this age is because we think that they are the most suitable ages for our film. We have made a choice of not targeting people younger than 16 as some clips may not be suitable for them, for example the kissing scenes may be slightly inappropriate. We are mainly targeting females and not many males enjoy a romance film due to them being quite cheesy, so we are mainly targeting females. The reason we have not targeted older people is because the main actor and actress are at a young age themselves so people who are around 50 will probably not be interested in a film based on teenage love. As a group we have thought very hard about our decision for the target audience and the age group we have come up with is for the best and we believe our film will be a great hit with them and that it will appeal to them stronger than people out of that age group.
